Trama

Trama began in a subject of a Design college (Puc-Rio). In this regard, we had to create a project with the theme “leisure for Rio de Janeiro”. We then developed a product that would be a collaborative platform in which any citizen could create an initiative and others would engage and contribute collaboratively. In this way, a person would not have to have a network of contacts to create an initiative and collaboration would facilitate this meeting between citizen and public space, something not common in Rio de Janeiro. The project touched us so much that we continued it for another 4 years. During this process, we created the Collective Trama, which articulated people and created collaborative initiatives of impact in the city such as: Cultural day in the square, Art workshops in a former chocolate factory, Mapping of collaborative initiatives of RJ, collaborative Hackathon for the development of the Trama platform, among others.

My contribution

This was one of the most important projects for my professional and personal life. Giving continuity to a project that was born within a college course and managed to be on one of the largest collaboration portals in the world was a great process of growth. In it, we develop skills that we did not exercise within the academy such as entrepreneurship, the monthly elaboration of initiatives and direct contact with people so different. During this journey of more than 70 initiatives created or co-created, I participated directly in the idealization, management and execution of much of this volume.

Some projects carried out

MapJam

MapJam was an initiative that aimed to make a great open and collaborative mapping of the collaborative initiatives taking place in Rio de Janeiro. In partnership with the platform Shareable and the group Meu Rio(My Rio) we organized more than 20 people who helped us create a first mapping and later we opened this map on the internet so that everyone could use the information, edit, add, etc.

Hackatrama

Hackatrama was a collaborative Hackathom we organized to understand what the community expected from a collaborative platform. As the plot was born of a project in which a platform would be created, nothing more interesting than co-creating this platform, from its root, in a collaborative way. We have gathered more than 40 people from different areas and capacities who, from the phrase, “What is the collaborative platform of your dreams”, could help us to idealize and design the site.

Crowdfunding of the platform

The Crowdfunding of the Trama’s platform was a collective funding campaign that we participated in to fund marketing actions for the Trama’s platform. This platform was designed collaboratively in a Hackathom. We managed to raise a value above our goal, thus enabling the construction of the Platform Trama.cc.

Rio de Janeiro Design Week

For the Rio de Janeiro Design Week, we were invited to occupy a room in an old chocolate factory and have the creative freedom to do whatever we wanted. We organize, in the morning, artistic workshops for students of a public school in the vicinity of the factory. In the afternoon, we organize lectures and debates on the role of design in society. Finally, over the weekend, we transformed the room into a large interactive facility that collected data from participants.
